Murendi Building Supplies was established in Thohoyandou in 2007 as Close Corporation converted to Pty Ltd in 2008 and started to operate as a retail/hardware. It is a 100% black owned with level 4 of BBBEE. Currently operates five hardware stores in Vhembe District in Limpopo with One Production Plant, Five hardware stores, One distribution depot in Polokwane and 101 Employees. Murendi is one of the largest building retailers in Vhembe district and second largest tile plant in Limpopo. Its concrete roof tile manufacturing plant is the second largest in Limpopo. The company also manufactures timber roof trusses and sells every kind of roofing components.
